Sow the seeds in inch deep in warm soil, ideally with a PH level of 6 to 6.5. Planting in a raised bed can encourage proper draining. Leave two to three inches between the plants, with twelve inches between rows. The seeds will thrive with full sun in zones three and warmer. When watering, take care not to get the leaves wet, as this can rot the leaves and spread disease throughout the plant. It is recommended to water the plant as close to the root as possible, in the morning, to ensure that the leaves have adequate opportunity to dry in the event that they do become wet. Pick pods from the plant when they are mature; leaving mature pods can slow and stop production. The pods will begin to be mature from fifty days after planting, so keep an eye on them and harvest as needed.

Resistance to bean common mosaic virus, anthracnose and pseudomonas (halo blight). First pods will be ready 50 days after planting seeds. Plant seeds mid-May (for most parts of the country). Mascotte beans are continuous fruit setters but for bumper crops continue to plant every two weeks until 50 days prior to first frost.Garden: sow Mascotte bean seeds 2-3" apart within the row and 12" between rows. Container: sow seeds in groups of 5 spaced 4" apart.
